The dissolution of the Assembly and the holding of parliamentary elections came at the worst time for some couples who were planning to get married on polling day.
A young couple has been preparing for months for what must be one of the happiest days of their lives: their wedding. Three weeks before D-Day, the lovebirds learn that the village hall they have reserved is requisitioned by the town hall for the legislative elections. After several searches, they managed to find a last minute rental, costing them an additional 1,000 euros.
Other couples are also experiencing this unprecedented situation. One of them had to make some concessions to save his marriage. They will welcome their guests in the canteen of the Quiévrechain school (North) for the evening. The future bride and groom are relieved to have been able to benefit from this alternative. Other events, such as birthday parties or end-of-year celebrations, had to be canceled.
