Smokey Robinson releases new solo album

(New York) Nearly a decade has passed since Smokey Robinson’s last album, but new tracks from the “King of Motown” are now on the horizon.


Robinson will be releasing a new album titled Gasms on April 28, the legendary artist behind hits like My Girl and The Way You Do the Things You Do.

Gasms features new songs produced and written by Robinson himself. The former vice president of Motown Records released his last collaborative album nine years ago, Smokey & Friendswhich featured artists like Elton John, John Legend, Steven Tyler and Mary J. Blige.

The first single from the upcoming album, If We Don’t Have Each Otheris now available on streaming services.

Smokey Robinson is a legendary music producer, songwriter, record label executive and solo musician who has written over 4000 songs. He was inducted into the Rock’n’Roll and Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The musician has worked with other illustrious Motown artists like The Temptations, Mary Wells, Brenda Holloway and Marvin Gaye.

Robinson will soon be honored alongside fellow musician Berry Gordy as 2023 “People of the Year” at the Recording Academy’s annual MusiCares event on Feb. 3 in Los Angeles.
