SME Universe | A boost from Quebec for Beehivr

Support from Investissement Québec, to the tune of $1 million, has enabled Beehivr to launch a new molded product in the post-pandemic era. Thus, the company has been offering WelcomeSpaces for three months, a platform for transferring documents, emails and other text messages between customers and advisers.

This keeps track of all exchanges between the two parties. “It facilitates communication and collaboration”, summarizes Jean-Philippe Laforge, president of Beehivr.

Who hasn’t prayed to the “Saint of Paperwork” so that important papers sent by mail, fax or e-mail in recent years are not misplaced? Or, vociferated all the words of the sacristy when an adviser asks us to return all our documentation to him?

Beehivr already offered an application allowing in-store sellers to help customers with their purchases remotely. “We took advantage of the pandemic to think of another current product, says Jean-Philippe Laforge. Especially since we had government assistance and wage subsidies. I was embarrassed by this help, but at least there were no redundancies here and we made good use of this financial support. »

The president speaks of a “complete” platform, of a portal for long-term clients which allows them to exchange with someone externally on a regular basis, to send documents, to exchange as on Zoom. “We put consumer well-being first,” says Jean-Philippe Laforge. We have the information in an organized way. It avoids dissatisfaction, we keep track of everything thanks to this platform.

We could see that after COVID, the way of doing business was going to change. There would be a different way to talk to his advisor remotely. In an era where we want to avoid travel, we have to adapt.

Jean-Philippe Laforge believes that the company has redesigned all remote relationships, to put forward the needs of both users. “We wanted a platform that allows customers to have access to everything that is traded,” he says. The platform becomes a private place for exchanges with a tracking function [tracking]. It is a virtual and permanent private space. »

As such, the President considers the assistance of Investissement Québec beneficial. “Help from the BDC enabled us to develop the platform,” he says. The development of this project required more than 2 million dollars. »

How to properly manage customer privacy? “We are audited by Deloitte for security and everything surrounding privacy, answers Jean-Philippe Laforge. All exchanges are secure. »

Since its launch last April, the platform has been used by people in marketing, lawyers, accountants and financial advisors in particular. From Quebec to Belgium and South Africa.

For now, WelcomeSpaces — “a name in English, because we have global ambitions” — is free and accessible on a computer, tablet or smart phone. It will cost around $20 per month starting in September. A free version will remain and will allow five clients.
