By dint of seeing reports on the various international conferences on climate change parading in the news, Yannick Bessette has decided to act. “There were great promises, but I found that things weren’t moving fast enough. I wondered what I could do as CEO of a technology company, ”says the president of Beslogic, which specializes in artificial intelligence and new technologies. It was then that he came up with the idea of putting his expertise at the service of an environmental or social cause. How ? By calling for projects from companies or non-profit organizations (NPOs) that would like to benefit from a technological tool to carry out a project aimed at improving the human condition. Beslogic will offer its services free of charge.

“It could be an online application that will optimize the planting of trees in urban areas, an application that limits the consumption of fossil fuels or even a project that contributes to the fight against the housing shortage”, gives as examples M Bessette.

For an NPO that is struggling to make ends meet, it can be an application that can both help it and serve the cause it represents.

Interested companies or organizations have until January 31 to submit their application online on the Beslogic website.

As an entrepreneur, Mr. Bessette wants to leave his mark. “We want to do our part for climate change,” he explains. The big boss of the Montreal company adds in the process that his team of about fifty employees, 45 of whom are programmers and data scientists, adheres to this philanthropic initiative with great enthusiasm.

The future

For the coming year, Beslogic wishes to invest in more than one project of this kind. At the end of the submission period in January, several initiatives could be selected. “The idea would be to do several a year. If we are able to make one every two months, so much the better! »

“It’s really in a desire to do something concrete. We must try to help humanity. »

Following the move of the brewing plant to Longueuil, Beslogic completely overhauled the system to allow it to evolve.

The company also has customers in the aeronautics, telecommunications and artificial intelligence sectors.
