Bison futé has placed the day of Friday May 3 red in the direction of departures in Ile-de-France, and green for the rest of France. According to the national traffic information center, “the proximity of the public holidays of Wednesday May 8 and Thursday May 9 (Ascension) offers the possibility of a few days off from this weekend”.
“Traffic should be dense towards the various toll gates, particularly on the A6 and A10 motorways.writes the organization. These traffic difficulties could be recorded from late morning, as well as on the ring road, the A86 and A6B motorways.” He adds that these traffic difficulties could be “reinforced in the middle of the afternoon by traffic generated by ‘work-home’ journeys and will remain dense until late in the evening”.
Orange Saturday at national level
In addition to these anticipated difficulties is added the closure, Friday morning, of the A6B motorway in both directions following a fire in the Kremlin-Bicêtre tunnel (Val-de-Marne). A bus caught fire around 2 a.m. in the night from Thursday to Friday, firefighters told France Bleu Paris, who managed to put out the fire. This closure is causing significant traffic jams in the south of Paris. According to Sytadin, it takes 49 minutes on Friday morning, instead of the usual 13, to go from Wissous to Porte d’Orléans via the A6A. The journey time between Orly airport and Porte d’Orléans on the A106 is currently more than an hour (1h18), compared to 14 minutes on average.
Saturday is classified orange in the direction of departures at the national level; that of Sunday is classified green everywhere, in the direction of departures as well as returns.
