Blouin overcame cold weather and strong winds to claim fourth place after the first qualifying run at Genting Snow Park in Zhangjiakou on Saturday.
A silver medalist in the discipline at the 2018 PyeongChang Games, Blouin struggled with the execution of some of her jumps, but landed them all for a total of 66.85 points.
Seventeenth snowboarder out of 30 to make her descent, Blouin temporarily climbed to the fourth rung, but no other competitor finally managed to get ahead of her.
Canadian Jasmine Baird of Georgetown, Ont., totaled 49.50 points and finished ninth. With a score of 37.11, her compatriot Brooke Voigt of Fort McMurray, Alta., took 17and square.
Riders will complete two qualifying runs and the best score will be retained. The top 12 athletes in the standings will advance to the final, which will be presented on Sunday.
The slopestyle events will take place from February 5-7. The high jump competition will then take place on February 14 and 15 at the Shougang site, just outside Beijing.
