Slight increase in hospitalizations related to COVID-19 in Quebec

Quebec reports on Tuesday seven new deaths attributed to COVID-19 in addition to an increase in hospitalizations.

There are currently 1,041 hospitalizations, an increase of 12 from Monday. Thirty-five people are in intensive care, up from nine.

A total of 4,686 health care workers are absent for reasons related to COVID-19, such as preventive withdrawal or isolation.

The death toll stands at 15,545.

The Ministry of Health also reports 844 new cases, for a total of 1,080,028 since the start of the pandemic. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

A total of 224,158 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the government platform, including 184,483 positives. For the day on Monday, 399 tests were declared, including 347 positive.

As for vaccination, 3480 doses have been administered in Quebec in the last 24 hours.
