Laurence St-Germain had a tough day in the mountains on Sunday in the second World Cup slalom in Levi, Finland.
The Quebecer got into trouble on her first descent with a time of 54.13 s, which placed her provisionally 28e. The second descent was even more difficult, as St-Germain fell and did not cross the finish line.
“I am quite disappointed with my weekend. I wanted to take my revenge from yesterday [samedi], but it didn’t go the way I would have liked, ”said St-Germain after the event.
I really wasn’t fast enough on my first descent and I didn’t push hard enough either. I wanted to catch up in the second run, it wasn’t very fast yet and I fell to the side.

the top 3 remained the same as the day before, Slovakian Petra Vlhova signed a second victory in as many days, closely followed by American Mikaela Shiffrin (+0.47 seconds). The German Lena Duerr (+0.78 seconds) was excellent on her second run to secure the third place.
St-Germain, who had finished 17the the day before, will be able to forget this difficult weekend as of next week when it will be at the start of the World Cup in Killington, Vermont, in front of relatives and friends.
“It’s still my favorite race at Killington. There is no point in thinking too much about what I did in Finland, I have to turn the page quickly. The best is certainly yet to come. I’m going to have a lot of people to cheer me on in Vermont, I can’t wait, ”concluded the skier from Saint-Ferréol-les-Neiges.
