Hard blow for the pilot for the pilot of the Ocean Fifty Leyton: the English skipper Sam Goodchild was injured during the start of the Route du rhum 2022, this Wednesday afternoon.

At the start, race management was informed that Sam Goodchild had just been injured. The Cross, alerted, dispatched a doctor to the area to take care of him and assess his health.
The skipper is aware, but is hit in the face and both arms – one is broken. He was transferred to an SNSM boat. The Englishman’s boat is taken care of by his team.
Several other competitors also turned around, certainly for technical problems.
