Ski cross | Brittany Phelan wins silver in Val Thorens

At her second ski cross World Cup of the season, Quebecer Brittany Phelan won the silver medal on Saturday morning in Val Thorens, France.

The native of Mont-Tremblant finished behind the Swedish Sandra Naeslund and ahead of the French Marielle Berger Sabbatel.

This competition is also the second in almost two years for Phelan. The skier had seriously injured her left knee on the 1ster February 2020, at the World Cup in Megève, France. She underwent surgery and underwent a lengthy rehabilitation before returning to competition on November 25, finishing fifth at Secret Garden, China.

Two weeks later, here she is collecting her first medal. His last World Cup podium was on January 25, 2020.

Three other Canadian women also did very well in Val Thorens: Hannah Schmidt, Tiana Gairns and Courtney Hoffos respectively finished 5e, 6e and 8e.
