Six people suspected of having trapped men via dating sites were indicted, Friday October 20, in Poitiers (Vienna) for “violent thefts by an organized gang”, reports France Bleu Poitou, Saturday October 21. The suspects connected to the site “coco.fr” and posed as women in order to trap the victims. They then arranged to meet them in the evening in the Trois-Cités district. Once there, the trapped men were actually beaten and robbed.
Five people placed in pre-trial detention
Alerted, the police identified five victims. The investigation subsequently allows them to find the alleged perpetrators of these attacks. The six people involved, including five minors, were finally arrested in Poitiers, Wednesday October 18, in the Trois-Cités district during a large-scale operation which mobilized around fifty Poitiers police officers, supported by a team of the Raid. The six suspects were then indicted, adds the prosecution.
The adult suspect and four minors were placed in pre-trial detention. The last minor suspect was placed under judicial supervision.
