Six-year-old Casper’s first airplane flight was memorable. The child was scheduled to go alone on December 21 from Philadelphia to Fort Myers, Florida, to join his grandmother. For some unexplained reason, he instead found himself on a plane bound for Orlando, 150 miles from Fort Myers.
In an interview with television station WINK News, the child’s grandmother, Maria Ramos said the airline, Spirit Airlines, has not explained how the incident could have happened.
Worried to death when she noticed her grandson was missing in Fort Myers, she was only reassured when he was able to call her after landing in Orlando. Mme Ramos then hit the road to pick up Casper.
A Spirit Airlines spokesman, Michael Lopardi, said the child was under adult supervision at all times and the airline ensured the child was reunited with his family.
Casper’s suitcase, for its part, had arrived in Fort Myers on the scheduled flight.
