The exit from the road remains unexplained. Six people were killed and seven others injured after being run over by a truck in Zuidzijdsedijk, near Rotterdam (Netherlands), on Saturday, according to a new report released on Sunday August 28 by a spokeswoman for the Dutch police. One of the injured people is seriously affected, she said. Saturday evening, a first provisional report had reported at least two deaths.
The vehicle broke down “a group of people attending a neighborhood barbecue”after leaving the road “for some unknown reason”explained the police on Saturday evening in a press release (link in Dutch).
The driver of the truck, a 46-year-old man, was arrested at the scene and taken into custody. He is from Spain, police said. His vehicle belonged to a Spanish company.
