A man was arrested on Friday, October 8 in the evening after the knife attack on six people in Château-Thierry (Aisne), franceinfo learned from a police source. He is suspected of having stabbed the first two victims around 10 p.m., including his seriously injured mother, 46, and the suspect’s 11-year-old brother. Four other people were stabbed, randomly targeted in the street, including a 13-year-old teenager, said Soissons prosecutor Julien Morino-Ros.

Pursued by police, the suspect was threatening. The police responded with fire, wounding this man who was then arrested. “All the victims have been taken care of and their vital prognosis is not engaged”, specifies on Twitter the prefecture of Aisne. A judicial investigation is underway.
The mayor of the town Sébastien Eugène salutes the action of the police on Twitter: “Terrible evening in our town of Château-Thierry, which, without the intervention of the national police, could have been much worse.”
