Six Palestinians killed by Israeli army in occupied West Bank

(Nablus) Six Palestinians were killed by the Israeli army on Saturday in the West Bank, including four in Jenin, a stronghold of Palestinian armed groups in the north of the territory occupied for 56 years by Israel, reports the Palestinian Ministry of Health.


A 25-year-old doctor was killed early this morning in front of his home in Qabatiya, near Jenin. Another Palestinian was killed in el-Bireh, near Ramallah.

Four people were also killed by Israeli army fire in Jenin, during an incursion of numerous armored vehicles into the city, recently the scene of the deadliest Israeli raid in the West Bank for nearly 20 years (14 dead), according to the UN.

Witnesses told AFP that the Israeli army surrounded the public hospital in Jenin as well as the Ibn Sina clinic, ensuring that soldiers were searching ambulances.

They also reported violent fighting with automatic weapons.

The bloody Hamas attack on October 7 resulted in 1,200 deaths in Israel, the majority of them civilians according to the Israeli authorities. In return, Israel bombed the Gaza Strip, killing nearly 15,000 people, according to the Hamas government.

Violence has also flared in the West Bank. Nearly 230 Palestinians have been killed there by Israeli settlers and soldiers, according to the Palestinian Authority Health Ministry.
