The day after the very hilly first stage between Florence and Rimini, the Tour de France peloton continues its journey in Italy, still on a very hilly route between Cesenatico and Bologna, 199.2 km long, on Sunday June 30. This time, no 2nd category passes, but five 3rd category and one 4th. The last kilometers will be particularly tough with the San Luca hill (1.9 km at 10.6%), which will be crossed twice by the riders.

In this trap stage, punchers like Wout van Aert or Mathieu van der Poel will be one to watch for the final victory. Also watch out for favorites Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard, who could take advantage of the high percentages of the San Luca coast to stand out. For Romain Bardet, the objective will be to defend his yellow jersey which he will wear for the first time in the Tour de France.
