Six departments are placed on orange “rain-flood” or “flood” vigilance, Météo-France announced in its weather bulletin published at 4 p.m., Sunday December 10. Corrèze and Dordogne have joined Deux-Sèvres, Savoie and Haute-Savoie in “flood” vigilance, while Isère, Savoie and Haute-Savoie will go into “rain-flood” vigilance from 22 hours.
In Dordogne and Corrèze, vigilance is linked to the risk of flooding on the Vézère. In Deux-Sèvres, it is the Sèvre Niortaise which concerns the authorities, particularly in Niort. “The heavy rainfall accumulations forecast for the next three days will cause a sharp rise in levels across the entire section”, according to Vigicrues. Overflows of the Arve are expected in Haute-Savoie. In Savoie, it is Isère which is closely monitored.
