Caution is advised after heavy rains in France. Six departments are kept on orange alert for floods according to the latest Météo-France bulletin, published Wednesday, December 13 in the evening. In the West, these are Charente and Charente-Maritime, Gironde, Dordogne and Corrèze. In the East, only the department of Isère remains in orange.

The weather is still disrupted with precipitation over a large part of the country, but the accumulations are decreasing in areas currently subject to flooding, according to Météo-France. Also note that in the Northern Alps, over the last 24 hours, the accumulations are generally between 30 and 60 mm, with peaks close to 80 mm. “We are moving towards stabilization but unfortunately the flood episode is not over,” had warned Jean-Sébastien Lamontagne, the prefect of Dordogne, guest of France Bleu Périgord this Wednesday morning.
