Météo France has placed six departments in the Ile-de-France region on orange alert for rain and flooding on Saturday, August 17, from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. on Sunday. The departments concerned are Paris, Seine-et-Marne, Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne.

“The disturbance present in the Paris region is reactivating. It will take several more hours before it clears to the east. This requires a change to orange alert because the observations are already higher than expected,” Météo France specifies in its bulletin on Saturday evening. The organization adds that the“We have already observed 44 mm in Saint-Maur and 57 mm in Bry-sur-Marne (94), 50 mm in Brétigny (91)”.
