A small private jet crashed early Saturday morning in California and its six occupants, whose identities are unknown, were found dead, authorities said.
The plane, a Cessna C550, crashed around 4:15 a.m. local time near Murrieta airport, southeast of Los Angeles, the US Civil Aviation Authority (FAA) told AFP. who participates in the investigation.
The police dispatched to the scene discovered “an aircraft completely engulfed in flames in a field” and were able to locate the six occupants, whose deaths were pronounced on the spot, said in a press release the services of the sheriff of the county of Riverside, where Murietta is.
The aircraft took off from Las Vegas International Airport, the FAA said.
Its crash caused a small fire, quickly contained, added the firefighters.
According to local media, a thick fog had risen in the area.
