Six people including two children lost their lives in a collision on Friday August 19 in the afternoon in Ariège, on the national 20.

The condition of the two carcasses bears witness to the violence of the impact. Friday August 19, around 3:30 p.m., two vehicles, one French, the other Spanish, collided head-on on national road 20, which connects Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) to Andorra. The balance sheet is heavy. “We have six deaths to deplore, four in one vehicle and two in the other, with four other people who are injured”reports Guillaume Afonso, chief of staff at the prefecture of Ariège.

The accident, of rare violence, required the joint intervention of firefighters, the Samu, the Roads Department and the gendarmerie, mobilizing around sixty people. For now, we don’t knowyou not yet why one of the two vehicles swerved, leading to this terrible accident. National 20 is taken by more than three million vehicles each year.
