Six people, including a minor, died in Romania in a fire in a guest house about a hundred kilometers north of Bucharest on Tuesday December 26. Two other people were injured, and two more are missing.

In the morning “in the locality of Tohani, […] a fire occurred at an economic operator with accommodation and catering functions”described the local emergency services on Facebook, who added that “the fire spread throughout the building, with more than 1,000 m2 affected”. The guest house had no “no action taken” to obtain a “fire safety permit”after irregularities were noted during an inspection carried out in 2019, local services specified.
