Seventeen years after his last opus, the Franco-Spanish singer Manu Chao announces on social networks a new album for September. “Soon next album Viva Tu to be released on September 20, 2024”wrote the 63-year-old singer-musician-traveler on his website.

This future album and the two revealed singles mark Manu Chao’s big return to the music scene. He is the author of only four studio albums, since Clandestino (1998), a mixture of reggae, rock, raï, samba, imbued with Latin music which became legendary until The Radiolina (2007).

After selling millions of copies, he pursued a career under the radar, continuing to perform, very discreetly, in the four corners of the world. Currently he is on tour in Spain, then at the end of July in Italy, to finish the summer in France.

A month after putting online a first single, also titled Long live you, Manu Chao published a second title on Wednesday June 26, Sao Paulo Motoboyan anthem to the motorcycle delivery men of the Brazilian megacity.

Symbol of committed song whose titles continue to accompany numerous demonstrations, companion of numerous social struggles, Manu Chao also accompanied the first steps in Spanish of generations of college students, who worked on the lyrics of Me Gustas Tu. The title alone has more than 340 million views on YouTube.
