Since Emmanuel Macron stopped at this Basque restaurant on Thursday April 20 to drink a beer on the terrace in Pérols, on the sidelines of his trip to Hérault, France Bleu Hérault reports on Friday April 21 that the establishment has received many negative reviews and his Google rating went from 5 out of 5 to 1.6 out of 5 within hours.

Among the comments online about the Basque restaurant “Pena Pil Pil“, we could still read Friday during the day: “Very poorly attended, tyrants of France have been seen there“, “too much pan noise“, or “the food is good but moment spoiled by this rowdy“.

“In principle, we are well rated”

Faced with the situation and the consequences that these notes can have on the reputation of an establishment, Vincent, a waiter in the restaurant, defends himself: “We did not know that the president was coming, it was also a surprise for us […] We cannot afford not to welcome a President of the Republic or a minister. You don’t have to confuse.” For her part, Marie Carmen, the manager affirms that “people who left notes don’t know what we do […]. In principle, we are well noted“.

Several inhabitants of Pérols have also mobilized to write positive comments and thus raise the restaurant’s rating: “All my support for this trade which absolutely does not deserve this relentlessness“, writes a user.

The Head of State went to Pérols (Hérault) on Thursday April 20, during a surprise detour, after his visit to the Louise Michel college in Ganges where he made announcements on teachers’ salaries.
