Thursday, April 7, the 43ᵉ day of the war in Ukraine, the inhabitants evacuate Sievierodonetsk, a city in the East on which the Russian offensive is concentrated.
In Sievierodonetsk (Ukraine), Thursday April 7, Alexeï Paveliev is called to evacuate civilians trapped in the city bombarded by the Russians. A taxi driver, he decided to transport civilians free of charge during the war. “We don’t have to take up arms or go into territorial defence. We can help in other ways”, he says. He will lead a group of people to the city of Dnipro (Ukraine), located further west.
Sievierodonetsk (Ukraine) is the easternmost city still under Ukrainian control. It is constantly shelled by the Russians. “I’m going to Dnipro first and then we’ll see where fate takes me”, says a man who is part of the convoy of evacuees. No more water, no more gasoline, no gas, no electricity in the city. This could become the next Mariupol, according to the Ukrainian authorities, who fear that civilians will find themselves trapped.
