Bromont guard Sidy Sow became the second Quebec player selected this year in the NFL Draft, when the New England Patriots made him the 117th overall pick in the fourth round.

Friday night, it was his compatriot Matthew Bergeron who had obtained the favor of the Atlanta Falcons, in 38th place (second round).
It is therefore the first time in 35 years that two players from the province find takers in the draft in the same year. In 1988, Montrealers Tommy Kane, a receiver, and Brian Forde, a linebacker, were selected in the third and seventh rounds respectively.
Sow, who played his high school football with the JH Leclerc Incredibles and played college for the Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars, then made the jump to the NCAA at Eastern Michigan University.
He also set a record in his program with 59 games played, including 54 as a starter.
At NFL tryout camp in March, he wowed with his athletic skills, including running for 40 yards in 5.07 seconds.
