Side Flavors on France Bleu Champagne-Ardenne

All summer long, France Bleu Champagne-Ardenne sends its podcasts to explore the territory of Champagne in order to make it (re)discover to listeners and so that they can plan future tourist activities.

This morning, Sébastien Gitton is at the counter of Les Halles with Christophe Belleuvre, director of the establishment.

The Halles counter

It is in the historic center of the city of Troyes that the Comptoir des Halles, has chosen to open, in the immediate vicinity of the market of Les Halles, in the heart of the cork.

Completed in 1876, Les Halles is the work of municipal architect Emile Bailly. This is inspired by those that Victor Baltard has just created in Paris, combining iron, cast iron and glass, to build one of the largest covered markets of this type.

The construction is typical of the 19th century by its materials and its sober and slender lines: eighteen cast iron posts support the immense molded vault, formed of a triple flight of roofs separated by bay windows.

He will then attend the weighing of Marion Rousse, director of the Women’s Tour de France, with Etienne Bertrand.

The Cap’C association, which promotes the rich vineyards and heritage of the Côte des Bar, has decided to offer it its weight in bottles of champagne.

Bottles that will be filled, of course. More precisely after a very official weighing, on the occasion of the start of the fourth stage, in Troyes, this Wednesday July 27, 2022.
