Shows to celebrate the national holiday

From Montreal to Saguenay, via Laval, Longueuil, Sherbrooke and Trois-Rivières, here is an overview of the festivities organized across the province on June 24.



The Montreal party returns to Maisonneuve Park

In Montreal, the big show at Maisonneuve Park will bring together a dozen well-known artists on stage, starting at 8 p.m. on June 24. Marjo, Garou, Isabelle Boulay, Mélissa Bédard, FouKi and P’tit Belliveau will be part of the festivities, hosted by Pierre-Yves Lord. Earlier in the day, the traditional parade will unfold in the metropolis. Departure will be on boulevard Saint-Joseph Est, at the corner of rue Molson, at 1:30 p.m. It will end at the corner of boulevard Pie-IX and rue Sherbrooke Est.

Alfa Rococo

The day after the big show on the Plains of Abraham, the celebrations continue in Quebec. At noon, at the Tourny fountain, the Alfa Rococo duo will be in concert, followed, at 1 p.m., by an LNI improvisation match. Among the players who will compete on stage are actress Salomé Corbo and comedian LeLouis Courchesne. A tribute to the flag with Léane Labrèche-Dor will precede these two performances, at 11 a.m. Elsewhere in the Old Capital, inflatable games, make-up, dancing and magic shows are among the planned activities.

Hosted by Rita Baga, the evening at the Center de la nature de Laval promises to be colorful. Michel Rivard, Martha Wainwright, Claudia Bouvette, Brigitte Boisjoli, Ariane Roy, Lou-Adriane Cassidy and Rymz are among the artists who will take the stage at 8 p.m. Elsewhere in the northern crown, Vincent Vallières will sing in Sainte-Thérèse at 5 p.m., Jay Scøtt will be in Saint-Eustache at 9 p.m., while Breen Lebœuf and Martin Deschamps will play rock in Mascouche at 8:30 p.m.

In Longueuil, the June 24 festivities take place at Parc de la Cité, in the borough of Saint-Hubert. Singer-songwriter Roxane Bruneau will give a show at 8:30 p.m. de-Valleyfield at 8 p.m., as well as La Chicane, in Châteauguay at 8 p.m.

Prefer to celebrate at home? The big show at Maisonneuve Park will be broadcast on ICI Télé and TVA starting at 8:30 p.m., as well as on the radio, CKOI and Rythme FM. Did you miss the concert offered on the Plains of Abraham on Friday featuring Émile Bilodeau, Louis-Jean Cormier, Laurence Jalbert and Patrick Norman?
