The return of shows to the Agora de Québec is confirmed in 2023 thanks to a successful relaunch of activities last summer, and finally harmonious cohabitation between rock artists and neighborhood residents.

Contrary to the days when the decibels and the behavior of the spectators upset the neighborhood when big names in rock and heavy metal landed on the stage of the Port of Quebec, the concerts of the groups A Day To Remember and NOFX, presented in July and in September, did not give rise to any complaints.
“It was all in all positive, even if we had reservations. From what the residents told us, there was no discomfort, ”said the president of the Neighborhood Council, Alain Samson.
Better management of the sound on site and the entrance and exit of the public has made a big difference, he added.
55,000 spectators in 2022
At the origin of the return of a program of events to the Agora, the director of the Association des gens d’affaires du Vieux-Port de Québec, Richard Samson, indicated that promoter Karl-Emmanuel Picard was seeking to attract international stars in 2023, but that there is no question of presenting “four evenings of rock” during the same weekend.
During its summer relaunch, the Agora hosted 13 events that attracted 55,000 people over 26 evenings, including the SuperFrancoFête, music festivals, comedy shows by ComediHa!, dance and 3-on-3 basketball .
“55,000 people, that shows that there is interest,” said the boss of the Port, Mario Girard.
Symphonic harmonium next summer?
The 2023 program could resemble that of 2022. The return of basketball and the Folk Expression festival would be confirmed and everything indicates that the SuperFrancoFête will return, as will the Celtic Festival.
At a press conference yesterday, Richard Samson hinted that the Symphonic Harmonium show is also in the sights of those responsible for the Agora.
“We want to renew our achievements and develop TV production as we have done (SuperFrancoFête, Belle and Bum). I would also love to work on events. We think of an activity like Bordeaux celebrates wine. »
