Shows recorded on a Bell Fibe TV recorder will be deleted after 60 days

Bell Fibe TV subscribers are being warned that TV shows and movies recorded on their cloud PVR will disappear much more quickly starting next month.

The telecommunications giant has informed users of its Fibe TV cloud recorder that it will start from 1er may delete records that are older than 60 days.

Previously, Fibe TV service allowed viewers to save recordings for 365 days.

Bell says subscribers will receive a reminder 15 days before a registration expires.

A representative said the company expects “minimal impact” on customers since viewing of “nearly all” recordings occurs within 60 days.

In recent years, Bell and other TV providers have encouraged their customers to abandon physical recorders (which saved recordings on the device) in favor of cloud technology.

The advantage is that viewers can access recorded programs on televisions as well as mobile phones and other devices. However, providers must also store high-definition programs on external servers, which represents a cost.
