Showers and risk of thunderstorms in southern and central Quebec

The beginning of the week will be rainy for several areas in southwestern and central Quebec, while the weather will be rather sunny in the east of the province.

Environment Canada has issued a rain warning for the areas of Abitibi-Témiscamingue and the La Vérendrye wildlife reserve where an additional 10 to 15 millimeters of rain are expected by Monday evening.

In Montreal and its surroundings, the morning rain could be followed by a risk of thunderstorm in the afternoon with precipitation forecast of 10 to 20 millimeters, while temperatures will remain between 16 and 18 degrees.

The weather will be cloudy with sunny spells in the center of the province, particularly in Beauce and in the Capitale-Nationale and in Estrie where the possibility of showers is still present with also a risk of thunderstorms.

The sky will be clear with impeccable sunshine in the northern sectors, such as Saguenay and the Laurentides wildlife reserve, but the mercury will not exceed 13 degrees on the thermometer.

In eastern Quebec, the federal agency predicts generally sunny weather with however a drop in mercury, especially in Gaspésie and Bas-Saint-Laurent where a frost warning was in effect overnight.
