Show on the Plains of Abraham | A wet reunion for the national holiday

Although Saint-Jean on the Plains is no longer what it once was, Quebecers were happy to meet again after the pandemic to celebrate their national holiday. “We’re socialites, and it feels good to go out,” rejoiced Ollie in his yellow raincoat, summing up the spirit of the crowd well.

The crowd, sparse for much of the evening, finally tightened up as the sun set. However, we were still a long way from the Saint-Jean-Baptiste shows of recent decades, when the Plains of Abraham were stormed by tens of thousands of spectators.
