Friday January 19, farmers blocked a portion of the A64 motorway in Carbonne, in Haute-Garonne near Toulouse. These latter protest against the increase in their charges, as well as the increase in the price of non-road diesel. “Here begins the land of agricultural resistance”, we can read on the farmers’ banners.
Actions that extend to other French departments
This anger of the farmers worries the government of Gabriel Attal. Tractors seem ready to hit the road for Paris. This Wednesday, January 24, farmers are expected in Pau and Bayonne on the A63 and the A64, around Lyon (M6 and A47), in Orange and Montélimar on the A7, between Valence and Grenoble (A49), between Saint-Amand-Montrond and Bourges (A71) , on the Orléans ring road or even on the expressways of Brittany. Blockades are being set up across the country to put pressure on the government of Gabriel Attal.
This Wednesday, January 24, the president of the first French agricultural unionArnaud Rousseau indicated, at the microphone of franceinfo, that the FNSEA will publish “forty“claims”clear” for the “end of the day”. These will be structured around three themes. Firstly, “everything that relates to the dignity and recognition of the profession”. Afterwards, “the fair income with prices, the question of water and phytosanitary products“, and finally “questions about practicing the profession”, “controls, monitoring, over-administration, permanent standards”, indicated Arnaud Rousseau.
