“Before, I had a good life. Now, it is catastrophic”. This is the bitter observation of Yuksel Yakut, one of the victims of the accident caused by Pierre Palmade on a departmental road in Seine-et-Marne on February 10, 2023. Five months after the events, the 38-year-old man agreed to speak at the microphone of BFM-TVbut also in the columns of Paris Match. Broken, Devrim’s dad is distraught. His life will never be the same again. “JI no longer have the strength. It’s finish”he confided.
Every day, the one who is about to undergo yet another surgery swallows a dozen drugs to fight against pain. “We are going to add a vein in my left arm which no longer works”he revealed before mentioning his sister-in-law, Mila, devastated since the loss of her baby. “She was so expecting this baby! Getting pregnant was a real obstacle course […] I don’t know if she will ever smile again.”

His 6-year-old son, meanwhile, “is no longer the same”. “He is scared all the time. He went back to school a few weeks ago, but he no longer participates in class, no longer speaks with his classmates. Nor with me for that matter. I have a lot of pain”.
Upset, Yuksel Yakut is very angry with Pierre Palmade whom he cannot bear to see on the loose. “Causing an accident can happen to anyone, it’s life, it’s human. But look at his behavior! He does not take care of himself, he walks in the street and has fun in the discotheque. He doesn’t really care about us.”he said in particular during his interview with Paris Match. And to conclude: “He may be a great famous French comedian, but for me, this gentleman is just a tiny dust […] While I was suffering in the hospital, Pierre Palmade was free, in the street. What do I need to do to get justice done? Should I take to the streets and revolt like those young people who demonstrated after Nahel’s death? I could have done much worse than them.”
