Shots fired in the middle of the night in Saint-Laurent

Around 3:45 a.m. Sunday morning, calls were made to 911 for shots fired in the window of a restaurant, at the Sharqi bar, 255 rue Deslauriers, near the intersection of rue Benjamin-Hudon, in the borough from Saint-Laurent to Montreal.

Upon their arrival, the police entered the restaurant to meet customers and employees who were on the scene and who were not injured, as indicated by Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal.

According to preliminary information, a suspect fired shots in the direction of the restaurant before fleeing by car, before the arrival of the police.

The fifteen customers and employees present were met by the police.

Casings were found on the ground, and impacts of projectiles spotted in the window of the restaurant.

The scene is protected so that the investigators and forensic technicians can understand the circumstances leading up to the event.

Surveillance camera footage will be viewed.

The investigation is ongoing.
