Shots were fired around 7 p.m. at the intersection of rue Bellechasse and 25e avenue, in the borough of Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie. No people were injured.
According to a witness at the scene, a suspect fired shots and fled. When the police arrived, no suspect was on the scene, according to Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM).
The SPVM made no arrests. An investigation is now underway.
Shell casings were found on the ground, and a perimeter was erected to protect the scene. The SPVM will meet with witnesses.
