Shots fired in Montreal North: a bullet hits the window of a dwelling

Shots rang out late Friday evening in the Montreal-North borough.

The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) received a call shortly before 11 p.m. after a bullet hit the window of a dwelling near the intersection of Avenue des Récollets and Rue de Martial. .

Casings and a bullet hole were found at the scene, said Sabrina Gauthier, spokesperson for the SPVM.

“Someone was in the accommodation, but was not injured,” she said.

The suspect reportedly left the scene before police arrived.

The canine squad has been called to the scene and the police are busy viewing the surveillance cameras in the area in order to have leads.

The investigation is continuing in order to understand the causes and circumstances of this gesture.
