After clinching her first gold of the season on Saturday, Kim Boutin won the silver in the 1000m on Sunday morning at the World Cup in Dordrecht, the Netherlands.
The Sherbrookeoise (1 min 28.510 s) led the group in the last two laps, but was passed from the inside by the Korean Minjeong Choi (1 min 28.417 s) in the last corner. The Dutch Suzanne Schulting (1 min 28.666 s) took third place.
New Brunswicker Courtney Sarault, who collected a silver medal on Saturday in the 1,500m, also reached the 1,000m final but finished in fourth place.
For men, only Pascal Dion reached the 1000m final. He was at the back of the group throughout the race, before passing Australia’s Brendan Corey on the last lap to finish fourth.
In the next few hours, Canada will be looking for medals in all three relays (women, men and mixed).
This is the last day of World Cup competition for the national team. She will then return home to begin her final preparation for the Olympics.
