Lavallée-Bélanger appeared Wednesday afternoon at the Longueuil courthouse. He faces charges of attempted murder, discharging a firearm, negligent use of a firearm and aggravated assault, according to a SPAL news release.

Police also announced the arrest of a 39-year-old suspect in another shooting that occurred on April 21 on Daniel Street, where no injuries were reported.
