This murder occurred shortly before 8 p.m. at the intersection of rue Saint-Antoine and rue de la Montagne.

According to preliminary information, a conflict between two opposing cliques may have played a role in this homicide, on 25e this year on the territory of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

The targeted people were in the car when the shots rang out. The shooter(s), also aboard a vehicle, fired in their direction. At least a dozen casings were found, according to our information.

The two injured men then fled. Their vehicle was found in front of the Georges-Vanier metro station, in the Little Burgundy sector. The deceased was lying on the ground when first responders arrived. His death was pronounced on the spot.

A third victim in critical condition was located at the corner of Saint-Antoine and Saint-Martin streets.

There are still no arrests in connection with this investigation. “There are several surveillance cameras around the Bell Centre, in the condo towers, in particular, which will have to be viewed,” said SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant.

The large police perimeter set up on rue Saint-Antoine Ouest, between rue Peel and rue Georges-Vanier, was lifted in the early morning.
