A police officer was involved in a road accident as she rushed to the scene of a shooting that left a man injured in the arm, Thursday afternoon in the borough of Rosemont-La Petite- Country.

Officers were called to the scene around 3:50 p.m. after receiving multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting gunshots in the 19e avenue, not far from Rosemont Boulevard. The place is made up of a set of apartment blocks.

They then located the 24-year-old man, injured in an arm, who was taken to hospital while he was conscious. We don’t fear for our life.

The suspects fled before police arrived.

A perimeter has been erected in the area and investigators are heading to try to establish the circumstances that led to this event. The reasons behind the shooting are not known at this time and investigators were still waiting to speak with the injured man.

Police were called to the scene after receiving multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting gunshots in the 19e avenue, not far from Rosemont Boulevard.

As for the police officer injured at the wheel of a patrol car, she collided with a citizen’s car as she was going, flashing lights on, towards the crime scene. There is no fear for her life either, but she would have suffered a broken arm.

For its part, the other motorist involved in the accident is not injured, said the SPVM.

The accident required the movement of collision investigators and the closure of boulevard Saint-Michel, between boulevard Rosemont and rue Dandurand.
