Neve Campbell will not participate in the filming of Scream 6which is to take place in Montreal this summer.

The actress, who has starred as Sidney Prescott since 1996, chose to bow out because she feels the offer she received underplays her contribution to famous horror movies. “As a woman, in my career, I’ve had to work extremely hard to establish my worth, especially for Scream Campbell said in a statement sent to variety.
The actress speaks of a “very difficult decision to make”.
The filming of Scream 6 is due to begin in Montreal in June. Courteney Cox, Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Hayden Panettiere and Dermot Mulroney will appear in the credits. The feature will be directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. Its release is scheduled for spring 2023.
