(Charlotte, Washington) Donald Trump launched attacks of rare violence on Wednesday against his new Democratic rival, Kamala Harris, going so far as to accuse, without the slightest proof, the American vice president of wanting to promote the “execution of babies”.
“She wants abortions in the eighth and ninth month of pregnancy, up until birth and even after birth, the execution of babies,” the Republican candidate said at a campaign rally in North Carolina, his first since Joe Biden threw in the towel.
The billionaire, sporting his traditional red tie, did not hold back a single blow against the fifty-year-old, whom he will surely face in the presidential election in November.
“Radical Left Nuts”
“She will destroy our country,” he said, before giving the vice president a new nickname: “Kamala the liar.”
Abortion, climate, protection of LGBT people… Donald Trump, who was particularly aggressive on Wednesday evening, attacked each of the axes of the new Democratic candidate’s program one by one.
“She’s a radical left nutcase,” he told his supporters, wearing their traditional red caps. “She’s crazy, she’s crazy,” he repeated many times, being particularly critical of the vice president’s record on immigration.
The Republican candidate was forced to review his electoral strategy on the spot with the shock withdrawal of Joe Biden from the campaign on Sunday.
“New victim”
Donald Trump also returned at length to the president’s decision to renounce running for a second term, accusing “the leaders of the Democratic Party” of having ousted him in a “very undemocratic” manner.
“Biden doesn’t even know he’s alive,” he said, before going on to discuss the record of Kamala Harris, “his new victim to beat.”
“If we start beating her, by 10 or 15 points in the polls, do you think they’re going to send us a third candidate?” he then asked, suggesting that Kamala Harris could in turn throw in the towel as early as “next week.”
Some of his supporters in the crowd wore T-shirts commemorating the moment, after the assassination attempt on his life, when Donald Trump raised his fist in defiance, his ear bleeding, on July 13.
The former president briefly returned to this historic event.
“I had blood all over my hand, and I thought, ‘Oh my God, what is this?'” he said.
