On January 1, 2017, Catherine Laborde
said goodbye during his last weather presentation, declaring: “You will forget me, I will not forget you“. However, the real reason for his departure was obviously linked to his state of health. For years, Thomas Stern’s wife has suffered from Lewy body diseasea neurodegenerative disease combining aspects of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, with motor disorders, language, anxiety attacks and hallucinations.
Guest of Jordan De Luxe on the set of At Jordan’s this Tuesday April 9, 2024, Françoise Laborde, the sister of Catherine Laborde, wanted to give news of the former Miss Météo. And these are unfortunately not good… Indeed, the state of health of the Bordelaise woman is not improving. “She has a failing memory, the balance that is lacking, the words that no longer come, she loses the notion of space. Sometimes she is very present and suddenly she goes elsewhere. She’s going to say one word instead of another.”confided the journalist.

“She can’t be alone for a second”
According to her, Catherine Laborde’s illness is nevertheless evolving “slowly”. “It’s rather reassuring but it’sshe can’t be alone for a second, it’s impossible. She can have panic attacks if she’s alone, she can fall, anything can happen to her, she’s not capable.”
Despite her precarious health, the former weather presenter sometimes finds moments of clarity. She seems particularly touched by the number of people who give her their support. “What touches her is that people think of her. The fact that she is always in the public’s heart touches her a lot. That’s why she is on Île d’Yeu, she is quieter”, concluded Françoise Laborde.
