She’s (finally) back!

Years that she has not trod the film sets. If many hope to see her again in front of a camera, Audrey Tautou seems to have other projects currently, and this for too long for some. In 2022, she precisely explained the reasons, which pushed her to “retire” from the cinema, in a long interview granted to variety.

The actress, particularly known for her role in “The fabulous destiny of Amelie Poulain” by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, spoke of the weight of notoriety that fell on his shoulders after his role in the romantic comedy. “Fame weighed on me when it fell on me with Amélie. It was so huge, overnight, and all over the world”she confided at first before continuing: “I tried to have the same life as before, while constantly having the eyes on me, but it was difficult to manage”.

Audrey Tautou no longer on the screens, but behind the lens and with her daughter

Despite her absence in the film industry, Audrey Tautou was able to devote herself to her other passion: photography. But was also able to spend time with her daughter, whom she adopted in Vietnam in 2019.

“I’ve never spoken about it publicly, ever! If I mention it, it’s because I can’t silence the heart of my life. It would be a somewhat false interview if I didn’t tell you about it”she confided to Variety before revealing, with emotion: “After many years of fighting, uncertain, traumatic, I have known this happiness that goes beyond what I hoped for. The moments I spend with my little treasure, I allowed myself not to miss them. on the pretext that I should work”.

Finally back on stage!

A life at 100 per hour despite an absence on the big screen for more than 5 years. But Audrey Tautou will sign her return to the stage in the coming months. Indeed, our colleagues from JDD tell us, this Sunday, June 18, that she will be at the Seine Musicale in January 2024 for the musical show “Charlotte”, on Charlotte Salomon. A show directed by Jérémie Lippmann and adapted from the novel by David Foenkinos, a shortened version of which will be read by the 46-year-old actress.
