The Sherbrooke Police Department (SPS) announces that the infant’s life is in danger.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in criminal court later Wednesday.

The arrest was made by officers from the Criminal Investigations Division of the SPS with the assistance of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). The police had been informed of this case a few hours earlier, when a formal complaint was filed.

The SPS indicates that for the moment, it will not reveal any other specific element of the investigation. However, he says his investigators are working closely on this case with the prosecutors of the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions (DPCP) and that other charges could be filed.

The case was also handled with the Department of Youth Protection (DPJ).
