Sherbrooke: a septuagenarian arrested for threats with a handgun

A 72-year-old man who threatened a Sherbrooke SPA employee with a handgun was arrested by police who seized a lot of weapons and contraband tobacco from his home.

The septuagenarian of the Canton of Orford had previously refused any collaboration with the employee on a mission to identify dogs and cats on the territory of the municipality.

The police officers from the Memphremagog Police Board came to his home to arrest him as he was preparing to leave his home which was subject to a search.

In addition to the handgun which turned out to be a “pellet revolver”, the investigators seized a pellet gun and “starting” revolvers, the RPM said in a press release.

The search also led to the discovery of 30,000 contraband cigarettes hidden inside the residence, it was added.
