“She was intubated …”: Charlotte Valandrey’s relatives recount her last days

It has now been a week since Charlotte Valandrey died at the age of 53 following a second heart transplant at the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital, which unfortunately did not pass. His relatives were able to say a last goodbye to him on Tuesday July 19 where his funeral was held in Pléneuf-Val André in the Côtes-d’Armor. Speaking of loved ones, his daughter Tara paid him a vibrant tribute with this speech: “He is the strongest person I know, with the greatest rage to live. His freedom has finally been given to him, his fight is finally over.”

“She didn’t recognize me”

Other relatives, in this case friends of Charlotte Valandrey, paid tribute to the deceased in the latest issue of Paris Match on newsstands this Thursday, July 21 and in which they deliver some testimonials. Among these friends, a longtime friend of Charlotte Valandrey, Nathalie, remembered a phone call from the actress before her visit to the operating room. “She asks me to send her this famous photo of the poppies that I had taken and that she loved so much, to share with her subscribers. Then everything happened very quickly,” testified Nathalie in Paris Match.

Another close friend of Charlotte Valandrey has testified in the columns of Paris Match, Cathy, who visited the actress at the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital on June 24. A visit that Cathy is likely to remember for a long time, according to her words which say a lot: “She was intubated, her eyes were awake and she was looking at me. She didn’t recognize me and said, ‘I don’t want to be hooked up. I would like my heart to resume, quite simply.” Cathy even remembers the request made by the deceased: “She had told her dad (Jean-Pierre Pascal), her sister (Aude), her daughter (Tara) that she didn’t want aggressive therapy if the transplant didn’t take. She could join her mother (Anne-Marie) in heaven.” Which was also one of Charlotte Valandrey’s wishes.
