Accomplices and welded since their childhood, they became downright fusional almost twenty years ago: in the early 2000s, when she was scammed by an unclear entourage, Véronique Sanson calls on her big sister Violaine to manage his career. A logical choice, since the two sisters are already close, as the eldest explained to Gala in a rare interview.
“We have always united against everyone, Vero and me“explains the one who is rather used to staying in the shadows. The tone of the interview is set: the two sisters are inseparable and the eldest watches over her youngest. Moreover, it was she who had noticed that something was wrong in her entourage 20 years ago and who offered to take over.
“In the 2000s, someone came to tell me thatshe was being scammed by someone in his close professional circle. While checking, I discovered that she was not being scammed, she was really getting plundered. I dived into the file and became, de facto, the pilot of this whole team“, she says, adding that this protective role comes to her from their mother.
“When Véro was born, two years after me, she announced it to me, saying: ‘We’re going to have a baby, it’s mine, but it’s also yours, so you’re going to take care of it, you’re responsible’. And There you go, It’s been seventy-three years, and it’s still my baby!“, she says with humor. A nice statement in any case for the one who knows that she will never let go of her little sister.
“There is always the big sister and the little one. Professionally, she doesn’t need it. But I always felt very responsible for what she was, concerned about everything that could happen to her. Probably even that I could have been the pain in the ass who often lectured her, but it’s our modus vivendi, and we both age well like that!“, launches the eldest, who is still very angry, however, for not having seen that her little sister was the victim of domestic violence in the 1970s, during her marriage to Stephen Stills.
But she knows that while she and her sister will remain close until the end of their lives, the next generation is just as close: “Véro and I had our boys (Christopher, Véronique’s son, and Julien, Violaine’s, editor’s note), three months apart” she explains with pride. “They are like brothers. It’s very fusional“.
