“This woman has incredible courage, she refused to go behind closed doors precisely so that we can talk about it, so that rape victims can hear what she has to say, so that we can do prevention and so that the law also changes regarding chemical submission.”declared Friday, September 6 on franceinfo Blandine, member of the collective Les Amazones d’Avignon, who is following the trial of the Mazan rapes. It opened Monday, September 2 before the departmental criminal court of Vaucluse.

The collective is following the case closely and attending the hearings to “to show their support for Gisèle Pélicot, her daughter Caroline Darian and all victims of rape, particularly those subjected to chemical submission”explains Blandine.

The Amazons of Avignon relayed the names of the 51 accused on social networks: “Information must circulate”, “the hearings are public”just like the list that is “posted in a public place accessible to all”says the activist who calls for calm in this case while defense lawyers complained in particular at the hearing of being“assailed” on social networks. “We must not participate in the harassment against these families who are not responsible for it and who are co-victims. […] We consider families as co-victims of these criminals,” repeats Blandine.

“I have confidence in the police and the justice system. We can see that in Avignon there is a desire to do something that is clean.”assures the member of the collective who greets “the remarkable, exemplary work”of the police in this case. As for justice, “a priori she does her job well […] The judges prepared the case well,” she says.
